Twiss has 17 years in law enforcement. Commissioned as a Deputy Sheriff, Twiss served as Jail Administrator four years prior to becoming Criminal Investigator with the Kerr County Sheriff's Department.
Chief
Investigator Twiss is the recipient of multiple awards for her work in law
enforcement. In 2001 Ms. Twiss received Sheriff's Award for Outstanding
Achievement for her investigative and prosecuting successes. Twiss has
specialized training in Child Sexual Assault Investigation and Forensic
Interviewing. During her years as a criminal investigator, she has been
personally responsible for the arrest and prosecution of multiple sex offenders
and has personally interviewed and investigated over 250 victims of sexual
abuse.
As Chief Criminal Investigator, Carol Twiss supervises, oversees, and assists nine other investigators and three narcotics officers, as well as the appropriate handling of evidence for criminal cases.
