2010 Kerr County Sheriff's Office Communication Staff

 

Many Sheriff's state that communications are the lifeline of their department. Sheriff  W. R. Hierholzer and his Chief Deputy Clay Barton really believe this statement to be true. Because of this belief, all other divisions in the department give "dispatch" the respect and recognition they deserve.

The Communications Division has full time dispatchers. They are responsible for communication via radio with the field officers for the Sheriff's Office along with the Ingram City Marshal's Office. In addition, our dispatchers facilitate Texas Parks and Wildlife officers, United States Border Patrol units, Adult Probation Officers, and often this region's Department of Public Safety Troopers. Communication personnel answer emergency, non-emergency, 911, and crime-stopper phones. They prioritize incoming calls, and dispatch field units as needed. The communication division is the first link between Kerr County Citizens with a need, and field units who can help resolve the problem. They maintain accurate records of all shift activity via computer systems and radio logs. They are responsible for all Texas Law Enforcement Teletype System (TLETS) correspondence, warrant entries, warrant confirmations, protective order entry, administrative message, driver license inquiries, vehicle registrations, etc.
